Account and sign-in

If you sign in, we keep the email address you use. With email sign-in we send a one-time code. That code only confirms it is you. We do not keep it as a password.

If you continue with Google, we receive the account identifier Google gives us, plus the name, email, and profile photo Google shares for that sign-in. We also store the language you choose.

What you put in a gift

To make a gift we store the names you type, the blessing, the letter, up to 15 photos, and style choices such as a tree color. Photos are kept on our hosting so the link can open on another phone.

Anyone who has the link can see what you chose to include — names, words, and photos — without creating an account. Send the link only to the person it is for.

Orders and payment

Payments are processed by Creem. We store the order number, amount, currency, status, and the Creem references needed to match a payment to a gift. We send Creem the email on your account so checkout can be filled in. We do not store your full card number.

Card details are handled by Creem under its own policy.

Opening a gift

When someone opens a gift link, we record that it was opened, how many times, and the time of the first and latest open. Those counts are shown to the person who made the gift. The recipient does not need an account.

Technical data

When you register or sign in, we store the IP address and an approximate country, so we can protect accounts and see where the service is used. A cookie remembers your language. This browser keeps your sign-in token, and an unfinished gift draft, in local storage on that device.

We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not sell personal information.

How long we keep it

A 30-day link stops opening when that period ends. A forever link stays available until you ask us to remove the gift, or the service ends. Order records stay so you can see your history and so we can answer payment questions.

You can email us and ask for your account, gifts, and photos to be deleted. We may keep a limited order record where we need it for fraud prevention, tax, or a payment dispute.

Who we share it with

We share data with the services that run Vela: Creem for payment, Google if you choose Google sign-in, the service that sends login codes, and the storage network that hosts photos. We also share a gift with whoever you send the link to.

We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to investigate abuse of a gift link.

Children

Vela is not meant for children under 16. Do not upload a child’s photos, or create an account for a child, unless you have the right to do so and the law where you live allows it.

Your requests

Depending on where you live, you can ask us to provide, correct, or delete your information, or to send you a copy. Write from the email on the account. We may need to confirm it is you before we change anything.
